Het Nederlands Bakboek was also chosen as the Dutch winner in the food history category, for the Gourmand Awards.

As a foreigner writing for the first time in Dutch, I was thrilled to be given such recognition in Holland. The award was received for Het Nederlands Bakboek (Kosmos Uitgevers 2012), a unique look at Dutch baking traditions, with stories and recipes.

Guild of Food Writers Cookery Book of the Year award

Warm Bread and Honey Cake (Pavilion 2009) received this prestigious award, presented by the UK Guild of Food Writers. It is a great honour to have been chosen for this highly regarded award and the warmth and excitement of the awards party will remain foreverĀ  engraved in my mind.

An award for research and writings on food history, presented by the Oxford Symposium on Food and Cookery. The award was received for a paper, “Damra Bound: Indian echoes in Guyanese foodways”.
